Organic Manuka Honey Roasted Nuts

What could be better than the delicious crunch of warm toasted nuts? Smothering them in TranzAlpine Organic Manuka Honey of course! The sticky sweetness and crunchy textures are epic, you have to try it!

This is an easy recipe that can be made in just a few minutes and makes for the perfect healthy crunchy snack or incredible salad topping. Toss it on top of your stirfry, blend it into breakfast smoothies or sprinkle generously over roast veggies for a crunchy delight.

Nuts are full of nutritious, healthy fats and fiber that keep you full for longer. Combined with the antioxidant properties of organic Manuka honey you have a super healthy, sweet and sugar-free snack that can be eaten every day.

This recipe works best with fresh, raw, unsalted nuts, not pre-roasted. This recipe works with any nuts but we loved cashews, almonds and macadamia nuts as they worked the best for maximum crunch.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup raw unsalted almonds

1/2 cup raw unsalted cashew nuts

1/2 cup raw unsalted macadamia nuts

1 Tbs TranzAlpine organic Manuka honey

1 Tbs butter

1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

Method:

1. Preheat oven to 300F/150C
   
   
2. In a small saucepan combine the honey, butter and smoked paprika
   
   
3. Heat on low heat mixing using a small whisk until butter is melted about 2 minutes
   
   
4. Toss the nuts with the butter and honey mix. Transfer the nuts to a baking tray lined with baking paper
   
   
5. Arrange the nuts in a single layer. Roast for 30 minutes, mixing every 10 minutes
   
   
6. Remove the nuts from the oven, sprinkle with salt and leave to cool completely
   
   
7. Mix them from time to time to prevent them from sticking together.
   
   

Store in an airtight container.
