Celebrating 115 Years of Award-Winning Organic South Island Honey

We’re delighted to kick off the year with the TranzAlpine 115-anniversary celebrations at BioFach in Germany this week.
Since 1910, TranzAlpine Honey led the way in organic honey production.
Today we’re a 5th generation family beekeeping business and the #1 certified organic honey producer in New Zealand.
It all started with a handful of swarms rescued from a school bell tower that was carried home in sugar sacks. By the 1930s TranzAlpine was producing three tons of honey with just forty beehives,
Today we produce over 27 certified organic honey products, health supplements and remedies including 17 different kinds of premium organic honey and honey fusions, that are enjoyed in over 28 countries across 5 continents.
While technology has afforded us the ability to streamline some of our processes, our traditional simple beekeeping practices are still very much at the core of everything we do.
To mark our 115th anniversary, we are releasing a rare organic Mānuka honey at BioFach – the Mānuka MGO1000+
The Organic Mānuka MGO1000+ is a monofloral honey that is brimming with antioxidants, and antiviral and antibacterial properties out of all the honey grades.
Our celebrations have just begun and this honey will be available to purchase soon – keep an eye on your inbox for more.
Thank you from all of us at TranzAlpine Honey, 115 years is an exceptional milestone and we couldn’t have done it without all of you.
