TranzAlpine Honey wins the ANZ Business of the Year Award for Excellence in Export 2022.

May, 2022

TranzAlpine Honey is absolutely delighted and very proud to announce that we received the ANZ Business of the Year Award for Excellence in Export 2022.

It was an absolute honour to be nominated as a finalist for both the Export and Manufacturing business of the year awards and we are so humbled to be nominated alongside so many other exceptional Mid Canterbury businesses.

Celebrating Local Business

The awards were held at a black-tie gala dinner in Methven on Friday 27 May 2022.

After 2 years of lockdowns and cancellations, it was very exciting to be able to attend such a special event and celebrate the achievement.

In keeping with the Ashburton district’s Shop Smart, Shop Local campaign, all of the suppliers used to produce this event were sourced locally.

What the judges said:

This was the closest of all the categories and the winner showed all the things you would expect of a great export business. They have good connections to market, good products, good diversity and a good story behind their products, which are organic and sustainably packaged.

A Honey Dream from the Ukraine

Yuriy, the Managing Director of TranzAlpine Honey, started his journey in New Zealand in 2006 when he arrived from his home country Ukraine. He has been involved in beekeeping since he was 5, helping his grandma look after a few beehives in their backyard.

Sadly, it is heart-breaking for Yuriy and his family to see the tragedy unfolded and Ukrainians suffering today.

“New Zealand is our home and TranzAlpine Honey is an important part of our lives. My wife Victoria and I are proud to be continuing the family legacy of beekeeping as TranzAlpine Honey enters its 112th-year of business.

We are committed to bringing awareness to the importance of producing honey that is organic and sustainable so that we can ensure the protection and growth of our precious pollinators for generations to come.” Yuriy Soshnikov

TranzAlpine Honey Message of Thanks

Yuriy and Victoria would like to thank each and every member of the TranzAlpine Honey team who are just as committed, passionate and dedicated as they are.

“We couldn’t have done any of this without you.”

Thank you ANZ for the opportunity. It is a privilege to be recognised alongside all the other incredible businesses that were nominated and won this year.

We are proud to support our district and New Zealand together.
